Guyana School of Agriculture Student Food Processing Exhibition Series
Yesterday the diploma class at the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA) hosted a food processing exhibition which I attended. The ministry of agriculture through the Rural Enterprise and Agricultural Development Project (READ) alongside GSA has been providing product development training to community based organizations in the different regions of Guyana. It is hoped that by providing this training that the agro processing industry in Guyana will benefit the economy, enhance productivity, create employment and lift people living in rural communities out of poverty across the country
The exhibition was held from 10 am - 12 noon and each group of young people already had their stands well prepared for judging by their lecturers and viewing by the general public who were allowed to taste their products but not purchase them until judging was over. There were nine groups : Passion Fantasy,San Lo Mar La's,Quality Pro's,March's,Season's International,Charge,PG-Pure Ganics,Future Legacy and A Taste of Nature. I am going to do a blog about each teams stand out innovations and what made each team unique in a series and then talk about how I felt about their presentation and products in those posts . In the meantime check out a slideshow below of the awesome exhibition presented by these talented youth in agriculture here in Guyana !
